Obsession / Control
Fascinated by the different ways people interact with objects and space and how their behaviour may reveal underlying habits, Obsession / Control represents an investigation into everyday obsessive behaviours. The project highlights how people interact with objects intensely, in an attempt to create a sense of order and perfection in their lives. Referring to the condition of OCD as an example of extreme obsessive behaviour, the research focuses on the notion of 'orderliness'. While the final collection of objects do not aim to cure people of their obsessions they exist to highlight the fine line between what is perceived to be normal and abnormal behaviour. They demonstrate that we all experience obsessive tendencies to some degree.
